I received a robo call from someone stating they were Agent Nikki Johnson from the IRS and to call this number. Of course it was a SCAM. The guy who answered said his name was Mark Cooper. When I asked him where he was calling from he said Los Angeles Ca. When I asked him his address, he asked me if I wanted to come to Los Angeles Ca. I said yes where is his address, he said Thank you and hung up.
The only recommendation I have is to remember the time differences and always call them back between their hours of midnight and 6am. Serves them right!
This call was suspect from the beginning. Robotic call from Nikki Johnson at the IRS about an urgent matter. I, or my attorney of record, must call back immediately to address this before further action is taken. Obvious fraud, especially after seeing how many others have had problems. I hope that this is being investigated so that vulnerable people are not taken advantage of.
You can file a complaint using the FTC Complaint Assistant (www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov)
; choose “Other” and then “Imposter Scams.” If the complaint involves someone impersonating the IRS, include the words “IRS Telephone Scam” in the notes.
Received a robotic voice mail saying that this is the IRS and to call ASAP before they take action against me. I called the number and a man with an Indian accent picked up and said "Hello, Internal Revenue Service". I said that I received a call from this number and he wanted to confirm my name. I said no, and then he asked to speak with (stated my previously married name). I said that that is no longer my name, then they asked to speak with my ex-husband and asked for his phone number. I refused, told them they are shady and hung up.
Received a call 4/9/15 from IRS agent Johnson saying if I ignored this call I could be subject to further action. I called the number but got answering service for IRS hotline telling me to leave a message. Subsequent calls did not get a reply at this number. I assume it is a scam.
