I got a similar message from a Rachel Smith with a strong accent from the "Department of Legal Affairs". The phone # was different (408) 543-9125. Knowing this was probably a scam, I still tried the # and just got a disconnected # message. Same sort of story though - I was in big trouble about something and I should retain a lawyer. Wouldn't specify what I was in "trouble" for and no valid #. Frustrating we cant catch more of these scammers!
A person claimed name of Alan Clark saying he is department of enforcement and an enforcement action started against my son and suggest him or his attorney call him back. I called the number and got a recording saying a magic person you are trying to call is not available so leave a message.
What a scam and we should not allow a such person to call on others and make a threats and scar them of legal actions.
Got the same - threatening legal action against me. Using a name I haven't had in 10 years. Told me (when I questioned him) that "you'll have to take this up with local authorities" and hung up on me.
Yes I received this same call telling me I would be arrested 2 hours if I didn't give them my lawyer's information. I was being accused of an error in filing my taxes in 2008. Never made such an error. As soon as we accused them of being a scammer, he couldn't get off the phone fast enough.
