A person just called me from this number - had my name and then said OH! MY GOD then hung up! Can't we do something about this crap - my number has been unlisted for many, many years - this is ridiculous! What happened to the privacy for paying for an unlisted number? Why bother!
I just received this call and got curious and found this post. They called and asked for Me by my name and asked if I was the homeowner . I responded no, and they were in silence for a very long time so I hungup.
12/26/12 : I am a Washington State resident. I keep getting phone calls from this 323 (Hollywood) Area Code number. 2-3 or more calls per day. This has been going on for months. I've never picked up the calls -- but no message is ever left. When I've called the number back is always states that the phone number is disconnected or no longer in service. I've blocked the number -- so now the calls do not come through -- but show up on my "missed call" log. Note: I've talked with the police and a tactic used by prisoners and criminals in jail and gang members is to get these unlisted, disconnected numbers and do "third party" calls through them. Whatever and whoever is behind these calls it is totally bogus and some type of scam. It actually constitutes harrassement -- but since the call cannot be traced there is nothing that can be done about it.
