some one called "Primo , Primo no me reconoses la voz, aver acuerdate te hablo de mexico, aber menciona a los primos? I then asked who did he wanted to speak to, then they clicked
You are so fortunate you didn't fall for this scam. I feel like a total fool and am so angry that this jerk got money from me. I too asked personal questions that only my nephew would know and he answered them correctly. He even called me back two days later claiming to be my nephew again saying he was scammed just like me on Friday. The number was 331-923-7185 It won't happen again, I hope he rots in hell
Caller claims to be my mom's cousin and wants my mom to guess who it is. She is being called by her maiden name and the person claims he is from her ________ side of the family. He is visiting form Mexico and wants to visit her. Asks for home address, my mom unfortunately gives it thinking that it is in fact her cousin. He calls back later because he's in a bit of a pickle. His tire blew out and he hit the driver in front of him and can't deal with his own insurance because he missed a payment so they came to an agreement to settle it with cash but he only has $200 and they agreed to $1,200. My mom doesn't have that kind of money and she tells him and he asks her to speak to her husband. My mom is confused at this point and asks how he wants to take care of it, the person wants the money wired to his wife in Guadalajara through a Walmart and my mom asks him why they can't drive down here together and the man claims he has to be at the airport soon because he's flying to Mexico (what a coincidence). Her "cousin" begs for help and my mom asks for half an hour to get the money. My mom calls her sister in Mexico who investigates the whereabouts of their cousin and it turns out he doesn't have a passport right now. My dad asks my mom if she is SURE it's Hugo and my mom says she hasn't seen him in 15 years. At this point they realize it is in fact a scam. The person claiming to be Hugo calls back again but this time my dad answers, and "Hugo" asks to speak to his cousin ______ (my mom), my dad asks him what her third last name is and he tries to find a way out because he obviously doesn't know. My dad says this call is being traced and "Hugo" hangs up. Hasn't called back since. This all went down in a series of about 3-5 calls all within 4 hours.
Received call from [ 52 333 874 9524 ] from a man saying he was my husbands cousin, and that he was going to be at our house in 3 hours with Christmas Presents for my kids and to surprise my husband. 2 hours later, after i had went and spent $60 on steak and stuff for a great supper and began making stuff, he called back and said he had been in an accident. The guy in the other car got on the phone with me and said if he could get him or family member to sign a paper that they would pay damages and he would not call police as the cousin supposedly had no insurance. $ 750 if i would wire the money, the cousin said he would give it to me when he got here and the bank opened to cash in travelers checks. I called my husband and he had them call him, any way to make it short he called me back and told me not to pick up the phone that it was a scam. I hung up and the guys did call back and said they had talked to my husband and he had them call me to answer some question. I told them off and said the FBI was scanning this call and said a few choice word before the line went dead. Come to find out they did get $700 from my husbands cousins last year. No one said anything do to embarrassment. The exact same story, presents and all. Please put out another alert including this number. I spent Christmas for my kids on a darn supper for thieves. Hopefully husband can do something- but this is all I can do by letting you know about it.
I was working and got a call from number 331-976-2746 supposedly from Mexico.
Right away very friendly, (in spanish) "Hey how is it going? and naturally I respond, I am good, who is this?
Him: What do you mean, who is this? You don't remember? Come on cousin! Its me.
And he never revealed a name. He mentioned a neighboring city and asked, well who do you know thats is close by (city) and I am thinking in my head, I don't have family there? Haha idiot!
Anyway I got more firm in my tone since we were going back in forth, Who is this , ah come on you know! and I was getting agitated, family or not I wasnt in the mood for games.
Any way long story short he clicked once I said, I don't know who you are, matter fact, I just got this number, and I haven't
given it out. *he clicks.
Same thing as everyone else. Called my moms house she's 73 and I just happened to be with her. He called once and she said I don't know who you are and hung up. I've trained my mom not to give any information out via phone. They got her once but not twice. He called again with the same story in Spanish and i answered in in English and I said you sound south american or mexican and my family is from the Caribbean. Which I got I'm not south american and I said youre mexican and he said I'm in Chicago. He made no sense. I hung up and then he called again. now i'm just PISSED and I said you're just trying to scam the elderly and she said I just want to talk to you I have kids blah blah. anyhow I just hung up on him and blocked his number. I got my mom a phone that blocks unwanted numbers so problem solved until they call from a new number
