Same thing happened to us in SW Texas. Person calling from Mexico saying they are going to visit my husbands family and he needed picked up at airport. Then he called and said he couldn't board cause they fined him for not reporting cash he was carrying and needed to pay a fine. He wanted us to wire money and said he was a cousin. Beware on the below number calling. Never sent the money ofcourse. Don't offer any extra info, don't offer names. Ask personal questions only that person would know from you, if its a fake person they will hang up cause they can't answer your question cause they don't know, and they are not this person they claim to be!

Received a call last night @ 10:48 pm, guy was claiming to be my nephew from Mexico. Knew my first, last, and maiden name! Um..I don't have any nephews in Mexico. Then changed his tune that he was MY cousin from Mexico. Wanted me to play a guessing game regarding his name. I did and he agreed to the name ____________. Said he was flying to my local airport in the AM and would call me back. Facebook quickly confirmed that my cousin is not coming to the US.
Called back this morning @ 9:05am, I pretended I didn't remember talking to him, asked him about his BROTHER. He gave me the wrong name! Then I asked him about his parents. He said they were both doing very well. Charade over, as they are both deceased.
Filed reports with my local FBI office and local police department.
