I answered this one. A robot tells you its the last day to lower your credit card interest rate. I then pressed one to speak to a representative. He didn't know my name. He said he represented capitol one, chase, and some other companies. I asked him to take me off his call list. He tried to explain that he worked for my credit card company. I asked him what account number he had on file that qualified for a lower rate. He said my visa. I don't have a Visa. I requested a second time to be put on a do not call list. He called me a stupid guy and hung up. I'm guessing its a phishing scam to get social security numbers and mothers maiden names so they can open up cards under your name. Do not give them anything.
I pressed 1 to talk to somebody and ask them to remove me from their list. The attendant that sounded Philipino just said NO. I asked him if he could not remove me from the list and he said NO, I asked him if he could transfer me to a supervisor that would remove me from the calling list and he said NO, I asked him you can not transfer me to a supervisor and he said, NO, Can you do anything? and then he hanged up. This is an illegal operation targeting people and being rude and breaking the Do Not Call Laws in the US. Consumer protection should investigate them and prosecute them. Please complain about these rude phone criminals.
3:34pm 4/27/16 call to cellphone from this number rang a long time. I did not answer. Thanks to all who have alerted others of the scammers! I am in Louisiana.
Called me around 4:30. tried telling me i had an issues with my computer and told me i was running windows xp with a very bad virus. In which i told him i have a brand new built pc with windows 10 he said i must have had xp on it before and i told him no because i just built it brand new then i asked him for my ip address for a laugh and he gave me a 4 digit number i then told him to have a nice day and used some vulgar words in hope for him not to call back. So this number is from a scammer of some sorts.
