I answered this one. A robot tells you its the last day to lower your credit card interest rate. I then pressed one to speak to a representative. He didn't know my name. He said he represented capitol one, chase, and some other companies. I asked him to take me off his call list. He tried to explain that he worked for my credit card company. I asked him what account number he had on file that qualified for a lower rate. He said my visa. I don't have a Visa. I requested a second time to be put on a do not call list. He called me a stupid guy and hung up. I'm guessing its a phishing scam to get social security numbers and mothers maiden names so they can open up cards under your name. Do not give them anything.
credit card callbot scammer pretending to be "with your credit card company re: an URGENT problem with your card... "Press 1 to speak with an agent..." [CLICK]
Called from Lafayette, CA. Didn't answer the call and caller didn't leave a message. After reading everyone else's experiences I've blocked the number.
Got a call today from 337-319-8512. It was a recording from "card services" and it assured me there was nothing wrong with my credit card acct, but that today was the last day to get a lower interest rate and that previous attempts had been made to contact me about this special offer. THIS IS A SCAM! I pressed option "1" to speak to a representative. A guy answered and I immediately told him to remove me from his calling list. He was silent. After about ten seconds of him not responding, I cussed him out and hung up.
