You have to remember there are many SCAM ARTISTS out there that do not pay attention to the do not call list, they do not care about the do not call rules & laws.... all they care about is getting your Credit card number and or personal information ..
As far as getting your phone number ( even though it is on the do not call list) these Scammers use AUTO DIALING SYSTEMS... they automatically dial every phone number within a prefix they program into it, For example using the prefix code 123 ,the auto dialer will dial every consecutive phone number in cosecutive order , beginning with 123 - 0001, 123 - 0002, 123 - 0003 all the way up to 123 - 9999, then they go up to the next prefix & series of numbers of 124 - 0001, 124 - 0002, 124 - 0003 and so on
For those complaining about the Do Not Call registry......You have to remember there are TWO TYPES of Telemarketers .... HONEST & DISHONEST ONES .... The Honest ones always abide by the rules & laws not will not call you, the calls you are getting are from the dishonest ones (many classified as SCAM ARTISTS ) who do not pay attention to the do not call list, they do not care about the do not call rules & laws.... all they care about is getting Bank Account or your Credit card number and or personal information .. NOW .... With that said .... Here is how they are calling your phone number ( even though it is on the do not call list) these Scammers use AUTO DIALING SYSTEMS... they automatically dial every phone number within the area code and prefix they program into it, For example the using an area code 000 and the prefix code 123 , The scammer would enter the start number at ( area code 000 ( prefix code) 123 and actual start number 0000, then enter the ending number of 000 - 123 - 9999 The auto dialer will then dial every consecutive phone number in consecutive order , beginning with 000 - 123 - 0001, ,,, 000 - 123 - 0002,,,, 000 - 123 - 0003 and so on all the way up to 000 - 123 - 9999, then they go up to the next prefix & series of numbers of 000 - 124 - 0001,,,, 000 - 124 - 0002,,,, 000 - 124 - 0003 and so on...
This is a rip-off they call wanting to sell auto coverage plans and then when I told them to put me on the no call registry they hung up on me. I call back the number from my caller ID and the operator said the number is not in service. Watch out they know more than they should and are hang-up when you tell them something they don't want to hear!
