I just got a similar call. My reps name was Andrew Rogers, I had to have him repeat it several times before I could understand it...I think the first three times he said it in Hindi or some other Indian dialect... Andrew said he was from Googlr Support and wanted to help me remove a virue from my Windows machine and wanted me to go to my computer right then.,, tried to report it to Google but contacting them is a joke...
Received same type of call, this afternoon. Rep id'd herself as Alex Walker (113). Said she worked for Microsoft Technical Department and wanted to inform me about viruses that were coming onto my computer while it was idle. She said that my computer was communicating with them and informing them that my machine was infected. I asked several times for her to identify the company she worked for to which I got the runaround. So, I asked her directly if she was an employee of Microsoft. She said Microsoft is the operating system manufacturer and that she works for the Technical Department. When I again asked for the name of the company, she told me to write her name and employee ID and dictated the phone number that I could call for more info 347-352-0133; that was good, since my caller ID only showed the area code. Definitely a scam.
Received this type of call this evening. Rep ID's herself as from Microsoft stating she wanted to show me the level of infection in my computer and help me fix it. I asked for the phone number and said I wanted to check into the phone number and company and would get back to them.
I just got a similar call. My reps name was Andrew Rogers, I had to have him repeat it several times also before I could understand it. Said he worked for Microsoft Technical Department and wanted to inform me about viruses that were on my computer. Also refered to Global PL Support 247 and gave his ID as VAP13131. He wanted me to go online so he could fix my computer. I am shure it is a scam.
