We got a call from "Aaron" at this number tonight.  Told us there were error messages on our PC.  Very persistent even AFTER I told him our PC was work owned and we have our own IT department that handles all the errors.  Ended up just taking his number and told him I knew he was part of a scam.  Continued to tell me he was from Global PC and wanted to help us fix our problem.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!!!!

Was called on Sunday by "James" who had a thick Indian accent.  He said he was with Windows Service Center and wanted to let me know my computer had been infected with viruses and malware.  He said with a few short steps he would fix the problem for me.  When I asked if he was with Microsoft, he said no, that Microsoft doesn't call people and that if someone said they were with Microsoft, then that was a scam.  Uh huh.

He said he was with the company that made my computer's operating system.  I asked how he knew my computer was infected, and more importantly, how he had my phone number.  He said that the Research and Development Department handled that aspect of it, he was in the Service Center and that he knew how to fix my computer.  If I would just follow a few simple steps, he could show me all the viruses and malware on it.

I asked what the cost of this was; he said it was a free service, and he wanted to know if I was in front of my computer.  I said no, and asked for his phone number.  He gave it to me and his ID number of JS0809.

Clearly these people have been at this scam for nearly a year now.  I will be reporting this to the FTC and to Microsoft (which owns the Windows Operating System).  These are the people my genuine IT people tell me need to be alerted to this nonsense.  Hopefully they will shut this scambag operation down.

I just got a call from a woman with a foreign (African) accent.  Her name is  "Alex Walker" and she identified herself as a Call supervisor with the customer relations dept of Microsoft in New York City with a telephone number of 347-352-0133 and stated that my computer was sending error messages to Microsoft. for the past 2 to 3 weeks.  I immediately sensed a scam but played along talking in an immature voice as if I were a precocious, 9yr old child.  I told her that the name she gave me and the address (which eerily she did get correct!!!-YIkes! Time to sign up with an identity theft service!!) wasn't really me and that "my parents' just moved and that the telephone company gave us this number she was calling about and that we didn't own a Microsoft product because we have a MAC.   She tried to tell me that they were going to have to shut off my internet service and that I was in trouble (imagine telling this to a 9 yr old kid!) because I was using this name and number and had an illegal Microsoft computer!!  I told her my parents wouldn't ever do anything illegal because my "dad" works for the government and my "mom" was a lawyer who went after people who committed cyber crimes!!!  I had such fun with her-our conversation lasted about 25 minutes as I 'innocently' grilled her about why she was calling. Hope that runs up their long distance bills!!  But seriously, what absolute, illegal, lying, foreign  a**holes to be trying to take away from honest, hard-working Americans!  Is it any wonder why we need to be more vigilant in keeping riff-raff off our shores (real or virtual)!!

Caller said he was from Microsoft and wanted to see errors on my machine.  SCAM!  I tried to let him take me through it to see what was going on.  Supposed "tech" passed me to a "supervisor" once we saw the "errors" on my system.  Wanted me to run something called www.teamviewer.  That's when I bailed.  Couldn't get company name.
