This person has contacted me twice from different phone numbers. He will call and text you.Once he tried to say that I have applied for a loan and was approved, and once to say I was going to be arrested for check fraud. He is rude and pushy and he emails from a gmail account: I have opened several cases and reported him to the Utah general Attorney. Don't engage with him just report him.
He says he is from the New York county sheriffs dept. He is wanting to collect money for a check cashing cashing place or a warrant will be issued for you in your state. Sounds like he is from India or something and is very hard to understand. Call the New York sheriffs Dept. and report them.
I got a call from this so called sheriff claiming he works for the new York sheriff's department and has an Indian accent says he's been a sheriff for 9 years calls me up at my work place says to pay him to collect a debt from a payday loan he asks do I want to pay it off or go to jail. I did all searches on him and new York and also payday loan places all results came up as frauds and scams. This number is not even a law enforcement number it is a telemarketing number. I hope some finds them. He gave me three different names first was a Gary Thomson second was Jack honest and III couldnt understand. Be aware he is a fake Do not take him serious but he has all my information so protect yourselves he has all your information.
Same as above, except after he called my cell phone to no avail, (I do not answer unknown numbers), he proceeded to call MY OFFICE, no less than 8 times. The receptionists could barely understand him, but he said he was seeking me for "some kind of legal trouble." Total scam. Cussed out the receptionist and hung up on her, only to call back immediately - EIGHT TIMES. He was given our physical address and instructed to "come on down to the office" if he had an urgent matter. He cussed out the receptionist again and hung up. Hasn't called back yet.
I answer phones for a large company and got a call for an employee. the caller identified himself as Gary Thompson from the sherrifs department and wanted this employee to call him at 347-377-7616. He said if she didn't she would be arrested. He sounded like he was from India and i could hear in the background another caller saying the same thing to someone else. I called the employee and she said it was a scam.
