He is still at it, said his name was Ricky. Just received a call with exactly the same issue and exactly the same claim purporting to represent Microsoft Support Services. I dumped his call twice and he even called back a third time. I did advise him that since I would be shut down within 30 minutes and would never again be able to access the internet that he call me back in 60 minutes and we could continue the discussion - surprise, surprise no call back and no internet lifetime block.
Just received a call from the above number saying my Microsoft licence was hacked, called herself Nancy #9011 and wanted access to me computer, did not give it. Actually looked number up and found this, thank you. Asked to speak to supervisor, got the same thing, wanted to access my computer, would shut it down if they could not access it to fix it, never let them get that far. As I was informed that Microsoft does not contact people over the phone!!!!!
Got a call this week from a David Parker with an Indian accent claiming to be from the Windows Service Center. Apparently we had been hacked and our Windows license was being used in China, Japan, and Ukraine. He called out a license number and said if that was our number then we had been hacked. We told him that was not our license number and then he asked us to give him the license number we have. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I got another guy with the same Indian accent. When I told him I would not give him the license number, he started threatening that my computer will be shut down within 15 minutes and the cops were going to show up at my door because I had been hacked. In what world does that make ANY sense? Once he realized that we had figured him out he got hostile and started cursing at us. Smh.

I got a call today from the Windows Service Centre claiming that my computer was receiving lots of errors. He directed me to the Windows EventViewer on my computer which showed me these errors. He suspected that I have 2 virus scanners installed on my computer which was causing the issues. I know I only have 1 Antivirus program installed.
The errors in the event viewer were nothing to do with antivirus software. I questioned him many times on the information he claimed he had about my pc and he gave me incomplete answers and kept redirecting the conversation. He was trying to encourage me to buy software to protect my pc for a year. $199.99. His name is Adam Riley and told me he works in the Windows Technical Department of an independent company (not microsoft). I asked him for his phone number and he told me it was 1-347-468-9607.
I suspect that this is a scam so I didn't give him any of my information. I hear about companies like this all the time. They scam people out of lots of money, especially the people who know little about computers.
