Called to speak to my son who does not live with me. When the male caller was informed that he was not home...he said that he was in legal trouble with the US Treasury and if he did not call ...he would be in a big legal mess. The caller had a strong accent and left a contact person name Jeremy??
I got the exact same message twice today. I though it was a scam, but I do owe on some medical bills so I was worried for a second that it could be real. Glad I googled the number.
I knew it wasn't real when the guy from our government told me to have a blessed day! Scam scam scam. Left message on my machine in a thick Indian accent threatening me and I should have my lawyer call them back.
been getting these stupid phone calls at all hours --- just got one now stating that I better call them back right away - - why can't something be done about this iif we are giving the phone number?
(In a thick accent) He said, "This message is intended for (my first and last name). This is Michael Davidson at the department of Legal Affairs at the US Treasury. I was trying to reach you in regards to very important mission."
He gave his call back number twice. It matched the Caller ID on my phone.
He said, "I would strongly suggest you to have your region attorney do it for you. A delayed call to us might end up into a legal mess with you. I hope you will take this right and call us right back. This is the department of legal affairs, looking forward to speaking to you. Until then, have a pleasant day and goodbye."
