A message from Sean Williams, department of legal affairs. Said I would need a lawyer as I had legal problems. His tone was threatening with middle eastern accent. Foolishly called him back and said I was an attorney, and he said, "You're an attorney"?
When I said I was, he slammed the phone down. His message had ended with "have a blessed day", and "God bless", which I thought was odd for a 'department of legal affairs' agent.
i just got this call. He told me there was a warrant for me because I owed $2500 in taxes. I asked if was a scam, I got no notification in the mail. He said the police would be at my house in 45 minutes then hung up on me. I was freaking out. Thank you this website for clearing this up. What a way to start a day.
caller stated he was Alan Clark from Treasury Dept calling about a legal matter asked for my son by name. Told him Treasury does not do business by telephone and hung-up

I got the same phone call yesterday. So I call my husband and he reported the call. The guy sounds Middle Easter to and his name was Mike Rager. I hange up on him. I call him back and ask for his address and his state tax ID number. He hange up on me sevveral time.
Glad i looked up this #. the house phone is in my son's name- woman left a message- Indian accent- spoke very low- had to play the message several times- i was concerned- my son has disabilities- emotional etc. I knew if it was legit there would have been a certified letter and they would have called on his cell#.
They called and said they were sending the local police along with an officer from the US Department of the treasury.
