Just got a call from "Jason" asking me questions about what insurance I have if I have any DUIs, I told him what is the purpose of your call? He said he works with insurance companies in NYC that matches insurances with customers for best rates . I told him I have insurance and I'm not interested . F out of here with that BS. SCAM! He's lucky I didn't curse him out like I usually do to them.
Answered the call from this number, was asked if I was "the homeowner". I said no, then asked who they were. The response: "You don't need to know", then the caller hung up on me. Illegal *and* rude. Hilarious!
looks like this "Solar America" scam is starting again after a reprise of a couple of months. I've started to use the "whistle trick" when these [***] call and since I started to do it, I don't receive repeat calls, at least from that particular number. A high pitched, very loud, high frequency whistle blown directly into the telephone mouthpiece can be very effective. Even if there is not a "live person" at the other end of the line it will knock out the connection. It works every time. I don't try this on my cell phone although its said to work just as well with cell connections. Told to me a month ago by an engineer for AT&T..........
