Won't work. Caller ID is like the return address on an envelope. They can put any number there they want. See spoofcard.com for a commercial service that does this.
There have been a lot of calls offering "free" alarm systems in our community lately. It's the same message, but the caller ID is different every time.
And legislation? Where are you going to get the millions of dollars for lobbyists and campaign donations? That's what the industry spent to make sure the legislation we have is toothless, and that there's only a pittance in the budget for enforcement. Classic case of best regulation money can buy.
I don't facebook or yahoo comment because yahoo shows my email address and where I live, but I got a call from these clowns this morning. Maybe they are trying to capitalize on the Zimmerman verdict. As a member of the older generation, I don't feel like I have to tell everyone my opinion online, or listen to theirs, not being judgemental, just saying.
If what you are saying is true, thats scary.
Got a call from "neighbor watch" (not neighborhood watch) are some people adding the hood part? Or does their caller ID show more than mine. Kind of scared me because I have a nutsy neighbor who shines lights and cameras at my house 24/7, but I guess they are just scammers.
Silence upon answering. Their auto caller calls and a live person or a recording is suppose to come on evidently. They are either hanging up when the call comes out of que, the sales person is disconnecting, or the recording isn't working. This number doesn't accept incoming calls, so I have no idea who it is. I have my own "do not answer" list. Just added this number to it.
