Just block their calls and ignore them. I believe in following the law, but if someone attempted to scare me about putting MY kids in foster care in order to collect a debt, I'd seriously consider drastic measures.
Just report them as I said in my earlier post.
If they continue to bother you, and you KNOW you do not owe any money, go to the local police, explain the situation to them and see if you can make a report of attempted extortion.

Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. Ignore and block these calls

Total scam. Read the other notes. Debt collectors have nothing to do with the criminal justice system, period. Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. Only judges issue warrants and they are only issued to duly constituted officers of the law and are only served by duly constituted officers of the law. Debt collectors cannot get warrants. Total scam. Ignore and block the calls.

If you paid them by CC or debit card go to the bank and see if you can get the transaction reversed for fraud. If you paid them by untraceable means your money is lost but you should make a report to the people who sold you the monetary instruments anyway.
