twice called in one day. Once before 8 and then after 9 and only a partial message as I am on DNC and have a no solicitation on my phone before it rings through. Second call I picked up and it would not release my phone.
Foreign individual called claiming to be from the US Treasury Department. I asked the individual to confirm what state he was calling from and name and individual disconnected the call. Scam
I have contacted the us department of treasury and reported the number. My hopes are they find him and put him in prison for impersonating a member of the US Department of Treasury. I only called the department after the fourth call I received from him today as a warning that it is happening. I had advised that foreign speaking individual to take me off his call list several times.
I too have received several calls from this phone number, all also claim to be officials of the US Treasury Dept. All claim to have money (unclaimed or some other type of financial incentive) and all I need to do to collect is pay taxes on the money.
I tell them to keep the money to pay the taxes, (but I immediately report it to the US treasury dept)
Today I received a call from a "Michael Wilson" saying he was from the US treasury and had $5,700 for me if I just went to the nearest Western Union office and filled out a form. He said I needed to call him at 360-207-0918 when I was on my way as he had more for info for me. He did NOT sound like a Michael Wilson and the whole thing was suspicious so I went on line and see that others also got this call. Hoping the US dept of Treasury puts a stop to this scam soon before unsuspecting people get taken!
