twice called in one day. Once before 8 and then after 9 and only a partial message as I am on DNC and have a no solicitation on my phone before it rings through. Second call I picked up and it would not release my phone.
This guy is persistant! Called me twice in an hour. When I pick up, it rings back to them until someone picks up. I hung up before talking to him. Annoying!!!
This is ridiculous because these people calling are not just saying they are from the US Treasury. I have been getting cycled phone calls from multiple numbers (listing different US states) from the same person saying he's from the US Treasury or from Unpaid Medical Insurance or some other fraud company. I have been getting maybe two or three calls every day and the call block app on my phone is not stopping the calls as it should mean the computers they are using are sophisticated enough to bypass blocking apps for cell phones. I've gotten so irritated with these calls I'm threatening them or cussing at them. They are even calling on the weekends and it doesn't matter if you ask to be put on a Do Not Call list because they are calling from different phone numbers ans saying they're with different companies. US Treasury my butt, they aren't even Americans. There's really no stop to this unless the call center itself are found but that's not easy to do with automatic cycled telemarketing computer system.
II received 4 calls within the last 2 days from this joker (with Indian accent) claiming to be from the US Treasury and wanting to send back some overpaid taxes. However, he wanted $ 3.50 to process the paperwork and asked for my credit or debit card information. He did have my correct address, name and home number, so I told him to come to my house to pick up the cash for his service charge. I think that took him by surprise, but he declined my offer. A few minutes later, I filed an online complaint with the FCC and then initiated a "call trace" at Verizon by dialing *57 immediately after I ended my call with this scamster. I feel sorry for this joker, because his persistence is matched by his stupidity. He's obviously not very adept at pulling off scams and needs to take some lessons from Bernie Madoff, or other successful scam masters. Anyone dumb enough to give this foreign accent scam artist any financial information deserves to be scammed.
