I received the same call demanding $2563 .for math errors on tax returns from 2008 to 2013. Indian accent. Reports sending irs letter in April that I did not receive. Now they are filing law suit and have arrest warrant through the defense intelligence agency.
We just had someone from this number call my son's wife's cell phone to say that my husband is being sued by the IRS and it is imperative that we contact them back at 360-283-5507. Well, I know for a fact that this is a scam - the IRS usually owes me! So, of course, when I checked the number online - I see that they have been very busy today! My son also said that the accent is very difficult to understand.
We had two voice messages on our answering machine from this number one this morning and one this afternoon. Both stated the same as others, they were the IRS and imperative we call back immediately, they are filing a lawsuit. I have never seen the IRS make contact by phone. However, for my own curiosity I called the number and first it just rang, second time received a message that the person I was trying to reach was unavailable. It certainly would be nice to get this out there so no one is taken advantage of.
