Received an automated call to my home phone stating they were from the IRS and they were going to file a law suit against me. They told me to call 360-285-3577. Knowing that many IRS scams were going around I did an internet search and found others with a similar story. I did not call the number fearing that it might a number that would bounce overseas and I'd be charged huge dollars for the call.
Same thing happened - story about the IRS filing a suit against me and telling me to call this number (360)285-3577. However, the callerID came in as (360) 566-2212 on my phone display.
I got the same message but decided to call knowing it was a scam IRS send notices by mail

surprise for him then reported to the police and blocked the number
I received a call stating that the IRS had sent me letters three times that I was about to be sued for defrauding the government. When I called back, a woman responded who was apparently in a very busy call center. She asked me to verify my name and address, which I did. Then she told me that I was being sued and that I had been sent three registered letters to my address and never responded. I told her that I never received such letters and that if there were any problems with the IRS, then I should be sent a registered letter. She told me that it was too late, that she can't send another one. She became very aggressive when I told her that I would not give her any information. I asked her if I could speak to someone else about this matter, which was clearly a mistake. She gave me the name, Monica Devy and a phone number, 202-239, 0198, and said that this person works in the office of Criminal investigations for the IRS in Washington, D.C. I did not call that number. Instead, I did what other people on this site is doing, and found just what I expected, that this is a scam. What concerns me is that there are a lot of vulnerable people who might get caught up in this and give over the information the people running the scam really want, their social security numbers.
