When I receive a call from a new number I put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they don't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). Some phone companies will allow you to block a limited amount of numbers, however this is only a whack-a-mole solution but the only one I can offer.
Received a call from them on 10/13 (Saturday morning). Caller ID displayed this phone number and "Customer Svc" where the name of the caller would show. Left a robo message on my voice mail about lowering the interest rate on my credit cards. My landline number has been unlisted for 29 years and I am on the DNC list, but from what I understand from reading other posts on other phishing phone numbers, it is common for unscrupulous business to specifically target the numbers on the DNC list. I don't answer any calls where I don't recognize the number or the name of the business/caller.
Man with very bad English said he could lower my interest rate on my credit card... dropped a few names like B of A, Capitol One, Discover. When he started asking about my credit card and interest rate, it was clear he was fishing for info. When I started asking him questions, he hung up.
