Pressed 1 and spoke to a live person who answered "carpet cleaning". I asked them that I want to opt out and they said that they would and hung up. Let's see if it's the real deal, where they don't call back at this number. They'll probably call back using a different number.
This time the call was for Air Ducts - I pressed one and told the person who answered that they needed to check their numbers against the Do Not Call Registry. The answer of "OK" and then a hang up isn't leaving me very convinced. I now file a complaint against every scam number on the Do Not Call Registry. Not sure if it will do any good though, but it is worth the small effort.
Diane recorded message for carpet cleaning. Only an option to press 1 to schedule, no immediate option to remove from call list. Waited a second and pressed 1 to get more info, call disconnected.
"Hi I'm just wondering if you want your carpets cleaned'
She kept going even after I hung up. The line was still busy with her blabbing 2 minutes later when I was trying to make a call.
I called back
"thankyou for calling back, if you want to be placed on our 'do not call list' please press 1"
I did.
There should be an agency that has the authority to shut down this persistent and annoying operation, bugging people with unwanted solicitation calls. I cannot understand why the FTC cannot/will not crack down on this abuse.
