i got two calls from this number this morning. Both were a recorded message. The speech was so garbled it was extremely difficult to understand. I picked up the words "IRS" and "urgent" and recognized that a phone number was being given to call back. I did not respond. I suspected a scam and it looks like I was right.
Received 3 calls from these scam guys today on VM landline. Poor quality computerized voice claiming to be IRS and requested an immediate return call. For fun I called back 2x with a blocked ph. #...first time foreign voice put me on speaker ph and would not give me his last name. He said he was with the Criminal Investigation Dept with IRS. Hung up when I asked for address of his office and 'badge number'. Called again, got another guy who gave first and last name, and asked for my name and ph. number. He hung up when I supplied bogus return ph. #. (they must have multiple people working their and a ph record of who they have recently called.)
