I asked how "Brian" had accessed my phone number and was verbally abused using the most foul and disgusting words and accusations, physical and psychological threats, slander, and harassment I have ever heard in 20 seconds (and I work with inmates - this guy probably was one and will be again in the near future, I can only hope). He said he had "everything" on me and could "F'ing kill me if he wanted". From the second I asked that question about how he had my number he just went on a non-stop rant of these horrible statements, without taking a breath, cussing me out and making threats, and hung up within approximately 20-30 seconds. Obviously a credit scam - they call me once a month from different parts of the country and I have confronted them before. But this is the first time I have been threatened and harassed so repulsively.
I received a call from this number and told them they had called me 3 times this week, and this was bordering in harassment. The male I talked to called me a sorry [***]. I want these calls stopped now.
Received a call from this number. After pressing 1 a man comes on the phone and asks if I own more than 5000.00 and if I did they could possibly lower my interest rate on all credit cards. without thinking I gave the last 4 digits of my SS# along with the the last 4 digits of the card #. After realizing what I did I tried calling the number back and got a recording stating that I had reached a telemarketing company, and if I wished to be removed from their calling list. Was not able to talk to a person. Now I am concerned about what I have done. Need help as to what I can do about my slip in judgment. Please advise.
No, they won't investigate. The FCC and do not call lists are a joke. I think telemarketers actually use the list to get #s to call. I took myself off the list and don't get as many calls now.
