This call's message references a lowering rates on a credit card. They said I was not a customer and the managers would only speak to customers. When I said I would become a customer they asked for information I was unwilling to share.
This caller refused to take me off their list, claiming they did not have the ability to do so. They refused to let me speak with a manager, or divulge who they were or the name of the company that could remove me from the call listing. The representative was rude, argumentative and continues to call me.
This was another nuisance call about credit services apparently by the same operation using numerous phone numbers all over the country.
Some their method of using a automated message to ask you to press "1" is designed to save their telemarketers time by having to deal only with the calls to buy their services (something I certainly wouldn't do from a company that ignores the DNC list) I think the good thing to do IS to press 1, reply with "yes" when their first question is whether you are calling in response to their offer, and when there is a live person on the line whose time you can waste, to tell them to stop bothering you with their illegal phone calls.
It won't stop them, but at least it makes what they are doing a little more costly for them if enough people do it.
I've also been adding the numbers each time to my call screening to block calls that do use the same number.
I hope there is a special place in hell for this bunch of mindless baboons.
I wish the FTC would put TEETH and severe FINANCIAL punishment for gross violators of the DNC List. The fact that we ALL have been getting calls from this same bunch of jerkoffs for several years now - non stop - should be a CLUE to the FTC that until you make the punishment HURT financially for these baboons, they just won't stop on their own.
Two attempted calls from this number today. First time on caller ID read NEW A CO. Second time read CNAM. I am so sick of getting the automated calls like this that I simply refuse to answer my phone when a number comes up that isn't known to be family or friends-- and have taught my children to do the same.
