Numerous calls from this number regarding lowering my interest rate on credit cards. When I push "1" to try to see if I can find out who they are, the phone hangs up.
A woman phoned and sounded like she was underwater (very bad VOIP connection). She offered to lower my Con Edison (gas & electric utility in NYC) bill. Maybe if her "company" could pay their own phone bill they wouldn't sound like that on the phone :-) Anyhow, it's got "scam" written all over it (add other cliches to taste).
I get calls once a day from these people. When I try to call back. nothing!
I have added them to the "do not call list", however; if this continues I will put them on my blocked list with Verizon. There is no rhyme nor reason for this nonsense, and I hope, after reading one complaint, the FBI is working to stop it. Thanks to the Obama Administration, we're struggling enough without having to deal with whacked out people making irresponsible phone calls. It's time it stopped. Past time.
