Some guy called. He left a message. The message was all broken up. Said to have my attorney call him right away in a rather demanding voice. First of all if I have some kind of problem with the IRS I am sure I will get some kind of paper in the mail. Don't fall for their crap. They are just trying to get money from you. Waste of time.
I just did the same thing to them! Scammers! He thought he was hitting it big when I just rambled off a debit card number...smh. He quickly hung up when I told him that I was FBI and was tracing the call...ha!
I have gotten 5 phone calls from this number. Since the caller is unknown, I decline or let go to missed call. Can you block this number from calling me? Thank you
Phone number (360) 533-7349, Aberdeen WA. I could barely understand the person who called me, they sounded Indian, which made me highly skeptical right off the bat. She stated she was calling from the "Federal Grants Department" of the US Government and that I was selected to receive ~$8K. I was selected out of a group of people who were good citizens (paid taxes on time, no criminal record etc). However, my phone said the number was from Aberdeen, WA (again, another discrepancy that gives off a red flag). I played along with it for a few minutes until she said that my options were to 1) decline the offer and receive confirmation letter in the mail or 2) go ahead and confirm my "details" with her. I said "what details?" and she began with confirming my phone number. Ok, the phone number was correct (they had that already, oh well). Then 2nd was my name. She had my maiden name on her files, but I've been married for over 1 year and had changed my name. I did not confirm my name with her, but she went ahead with trying to confirm my address. The address of mine that she had was an address from 5+ years ago when I was in college, and since that address I've lived at 4 other addresses. So at that point, I hung up and then googled the phone number, came across this page and the scam seems to be confirmed!
