I unplugged my answering machine so they just reach a ring. I also have purchased a call blocker device and as these calls come in if I am not home to immediately block them I block them manually , it does work. I have written to three different attorney generals in three different states and each one basically said they are spoofed numbers and not much they can do about it. I still would suggest people do the same thing and bombard them something can be done, they just need to be pushed.
I bought a call blocker device and in addition to blocking specific numbers as I find them on my caller ID when I am not home to block them right away, I also block the entire area code especially if I do not know anyone personally. It does work, I had no sooner connected it when I received it last month when an hour and a half later a call came in with a number I had just programmed and it blocked it.
