I received this call on both lines simultaneously. When I called them back, an Indian woman with a thick accent answerd "Something loans" and when I said, "Excuse me?" she said, "Personal or business?" I said, "Excuse me?" again and she said, "Loan company." She then hung up on me and when I call back it just rings.
Exactly what happened to me, I have registered several domains recently. The first two, I opted to keep my info private. The last one, which I registered roughly a week ago, I did not make private and I got a call from this number today. I believe if you go back to where you bought your domain, you should be able to make this info private.
I just started getting phone calls, once a day so far - always at exactly 10:18, and I just recently hosted my online portfolio website. While my phone number is not actually on the website, my resume is and it contains my phone number.
I am assuming the only thing that can be done is to individually block these numbers.
Many are correct, this is a telemarketing cold call that acquires your contact information from WHOIS records. Providing fake contact information violates ICANN and many registrar TOS agreements, so pay a little extra for private registration - or create a "spam" phone number/po box/email address.
