I have the free X-Lite software telephone from Counterpath Corporation configured with a free US telephone number from IPKall (to act as my Google Voice forwarding phone) and a free SIP telephone account from Ekiga.net (that feeds calls to the IPKall phone number).

I make sure to answer my scam calls using the X-Lite "softphone" on my computer because the X-Lite softphone has the HOLD button with that music. I believe the IPKall phone number with X-Lite also supports Call Waiting so I can take advantage of Google Voice inbound "conference calls on the fly". I usually use Google "Hangouts" for conference calls as it is far more flexible and does outgoing conference calls.
