I got a call from this number same time each day for days and days. Same thing, no one on the other end. So I dared to call it back and a person answered it was for some firefighters fund for injured people or something, didn't get the whole name but I think it sounds a bit scammish. They are hanging up until you get frustrated and call them back at which point they make their pitch, do it gets around the do not call rules. I asked to get off the list and the man sounded nice but we'll see.
Everyone who gets calls from this number should report it to the "Do Not Call List". (I did). If enough people complain, maybe they will do something about it. You do not have to be registered to make a complaint. Make sure you fill out the comment part and tell the exactly what happened.
I gets a call from these people, pretty much every other day. I answer the phone and no one answers......This is pretty annoying. I am on a do not call list....
I called this number back. I got a few seconds of Chopin ("Minute Waltz"), but then a live man answered. He knew who I was and where I lived, so I must have been on a specific list of people to call. He identified himself as representing Committee for Missing Children or something like that and wanted a one-time donation. I said (truthfully) that I don't respond to telephone solicitations since I can't tell whether they're legitimate. He read back my address, wanting me to donate to a mail solicitation and pledge a certain amount. I said that I wasn't making any promises. He thanked me for my time, and that was it.
They wanted money to return missing children to their homes. When I said there were law enforcement agencies to do this they hung up on me. Hopefully they won't call again!
Why do you people answer the phone from numbers you don't know??? Let it ring, if it's something important they will leave a message. If everybody stopped answering these calls they would have to stop calling!?!? Duh
