For those of you being harrassed, this website is GOLD re: getting rid of overzealous and illegal collectors (for instance, they can't come back to you 20 years after certain debts etc.).
Once on the website, Clark Howard has a ton of very helpful links to gov't agencies dealing with this sort of stuff.
Every day. I'm receiving calls at the same time from the 360-885-4395. I've found who it is in WA state. It is Wells Fargo and I'm seldom late with a payment...what upsets me is that I've answered 2x this week when they called & no one answering so I assumed it was a 'scam' phone call as I didn't recognize the # never being called by it before. I then called a Wells Fargo and found that it IS there collection ofc so I put in a complaint re the calls and that I'd read other complains on internet..she apologized!
I used to work in the Vancouver WF collection call center. There management is always pushing the collectors to be as uncooperative as possible. If you work for them & get injured(not job related) kiss your job goodbye. They will eagerly terminate you, so goodbye disability & medical benefits. After 2 yrs, my safety net is gone, so I stopped paying these bloodsuckers. I actually had an agent suggest that I sell household items on Craigslist. If I chose to do that, WF would be at the very BOTTOM of any payment list. The automated dialer location determines what phone number will be displayed. I have a simple solution to not being bothered by calls. First of all, NEVER give a collector your cell nbr. I have my home phone nbr forwarded to my cell. I have all collector numbers programmed in as blocked calls. My home phone rings once. All pests are sent to cell voice mail, and people that I actually want to hear from get through. They will never get another nickel from me. Filing BK soon, make no apologies for it.
