For those of you being harrassed, this website is GOLD re: getting rid of overzealous and illegal collectors (for instance, they can't come back to you 20 years after certain debts etc.).
Once on the website, Clark Howard has a ton of very helpful links to gov't agencies dealing with this sort of stuff.
They have a right to collect. Somehow they also have a right to slam in additonal fees and other costs any way they choose. They don't have a right to harass.
I get 2 calls and hour all day long from this number from 8am till 9pm it is very annoying. When you do answer there is nobody there this is really starting to tick me off. I do have an account with Wells Fargo but I am not giving them my information over the phone. I will pay my payments by mail. I wish this crap would stop this is harassment.
Here's a new one......I paid two accounts a week late. No big deal. So....I wanted to be a good effin bill payer, so I paid the next month waaay early. These payments were maybe 10 days apart. Therefore, when the regular time came to pay, I didn't because, I PAID EARLY. Although they recognized receipt of both payments, they think the early one is an extra payment on the previous one. Do you get it? They think I'm skipping a payment now (on two accounts).
What a bunch of morons!!
P.S. if you turn your cell off, you won't get any "missed" messages. If I don't recognize, I don't answer. I now recognize who this is. They don't deserve a second of my time. They can pound sand!
I have been receiving these calls on and off for 2 months right after I switched to a new phone carrier .Like everyone says either they hang up or a person keeps asking for a Wayne and Nicole. I have explained that there is no Wayne or Nicole living here. This Saturday,5/28/11 the calls started at 8:12am and continued once an hour for 7 hours.I did not answer any of them.Then on Sunday morning they started all over again at 8:21am.This time a whom asked for Wayne and Nicole and i asked her to please stop calling as they do not live here. She said it was an automated system,I told her they need to take my phone # out of the automated system. She said she would but that it could take up to 48 hours for it to take effect. Well,I got through 5/30/11 with no calls,then on 5/31/11 i started getting them calling from another#. I called that # and requested the same thing please remove my #. Then I finally decided I better take matters into my own hands and found out how to block # on my own phone. I now have 2 of their #s blocked and will add any and all #s from them as they come in. This is total harrasment since I do not even have a Wells Fargo acount.
