These pre-recorded messages are almost always on my call display US area codes, they don't care about Canadian do not call list. If I'm home when the phone rings I usually pick up, press 1 and ask politely to be taken off the list, that mostly works. The ones that call while I'm not home and leave repeated messages I add to my call screen. Talk to the hand.
I wonder if the ppl that work at these places even get paid. Probably straight commission. they're desperate and will try anything, then on payday it's oh sorry, you didn't work hard enough to earn any money, see ya.
The captain is back with the cruise you won? That's interesting, he used to call me about a year ago. I think I had these credit card people calling me a long time ago too, now they've started again, must go in cycles. How about the people with the diaper coupons? Haven't heard from them lately. It's funny but I agree the sad thing is there's probably a few unfortunates out there who get scammed into these things otherwise they wouldn't bother.
I just got one of these pre-recorded messages, and I'll report them to the CRTC since I'm on the DNC list. I don't know if the CRTC actually does anything, but I might as well bug the hell out of them. It costs me nothing, and maybe one day they'll actually get sick of complaints and do something about these callers.
As a rule, I don't do any business with anyone over the phone unless I initiate the call, and then only with companies I know.
