Recieved a call today from this number> Stated that they wanted to lower my interest rate on my current credit card and what do you know I dont have a credit card period.
The company call themselves: Credit Services
They work on behalf of Visa and Mastercard.
I have a long distance plan so I called them back. I got this kid on the line, I ask where he was located he stated that he was in ontario, then said he flies back and forth from texas where this office is to ontario. Then he said that he was calling me from texas. But the number that called me was a Northern Florida number. Then I told him that they need to scrub there list against the Do Not Call list...and i stated that it is a requirement to scrub there list against the Do not call. Then he stated that he didnt know anything about the Do not call list and then proceeded to ask me if i wanted to be placed on their list. As he stated he didnt know about the do not call list, I ask to speak with his supervisor then he transfer me to his supervisor and his name was Jeff but by the sound of it, It was the same person just changed his voice a bit to sound different and then i proceeded to tell him that he needs to scrubb there list against the do not call list. He stated I can add you to our do not call list, I told him that he needs to scub there number against the list as in USA it is regulated by the FCC and in canada it is the CRTC. Then I stated i would file a complaint against the unwanted solicated phone call and then he told me not to threaten him. I then stated that it is not a threat, this is a requirement from the canadian and us government.
This person didnt understand that he called someone within canada on his cell phone that is well versed in the Canadian and US National do not call as I work in canada at a call center for a telecomunications provider in the US. We do both inbound and outbound dialing so have knowledge in this is vital.
