Legitimate telemarketers do pay attention to it. If not on the DNC list, you'd be getting even more calls.

I've discovered that being on the Do Not Call List is a bunch of hooey. No one pays any attention to it.
That goes for your home service as well. You have to update Do Not Call List every five years, which I did for a while but quit when I realized it is just another list.
