Got called by this number (401-203-8038), CID as "SURVEY", at 1:55pm on April 28. This happened immediately after Verizon registered 3 calls from 410-844-3498, CID as "Baltimore" and some other rubbish IDs. Verizon block these earlier 3 calls, for some reason. They never rang thru, it's not on my no.s to block list. Can't be a coincidence, four calls all in the same minute. But using two different area codes? I guess the area code, called from, is meaningless these days.
Heather's back! I haven't heard from her in months. The robo-call is the same as before: lower credit card interest rate ... final notice ... man with Indian accent answers call. Ten minutes earlier I got a call from Rachel (from a different spoofed number) pitching the same scam.
These scammers call ALL phone numbers in a prefix. Each prefix contains 10,000 possible numbers. The robo-caller starts with a prefix, such as 432, and then calls all of the numbers in that prefix from 0000 to 9999. I actually saw this happen in an office with 6 sequential phone numbers. The robo-caller dialed all of the numbers in sequence, including the fax machine.
