If everyone who took the time to write a complaint here on this website also wrote an e0mail to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) these people (scammers) would be out of business by now.
This number, company, has been calling sometimes 3 times a day for about 3 weeks now. I had been ignoring the calls. My elderly Mom picked up and told them she had trouble hearing. I got on the other line and could here them trying to get information from her. I told them to remove our name and number from their calling lists. The man on the line would not stop talking, telling me about the great bargain, that I should listen. I just continued saying, "Remove our number from your calling list", he finally said ok and hung up. That was yesterday...lets see if they try calling again.
Possible fraud. These people are out of Rhode Isand and refer to them as VMS Security a division of GE Security Systems. At this number I spoke with someone named Patrick. If this is illegal activity or if the company is suspect, he may be a knowing party.
The original sales call came from 701 264 5658, a North Dakota exchange. This original call was illegal, and search of 701 area codes will indicate that there are similar complaints about that number.
A concern here is that if someone is soliciting home security systems, they would have the ability to scope out your home. Should these people be acting under other pretenses, it would put your property at risk.
they tried to sell me a sectury g e securityy system for my house they said it was for free but had to sign up for some thing for 3 yrs i told them i wasn't intersted they keep calling, sounds like a inda person i told them i'm going to rip a cows head off a send it to them if they call me a one more time.
This is VMS security systems that is doing cold calling but they say that we did some kind of survey for them and now have "won" a $1200.00 security system with free installation with a monitoring charge that is about a dollar a day. Their web site is: http://vmsalarms.com/
They have a "technician" call you back who is actually just another sales person who gives you a line a crap about how their system works and how it is better and cheaper than any other provider. The "technician" knows little about the electronics of the system and tries to BS you if you ask a technical question. The scam part is that the system you "won" is a minimum system and if you have more than a simple apartment, you will have to buy the extra door and window and motion alarms. My "free" system would have cost me $635.00, plus $36 a month for the monitoring.
