Got the call, answered and heard nothing so I hung up. I have a Maine number but live in San Francisco and I get those car warranty calls all the time on my land line. Has anyone tried donotcall.gov ?

I have been on the auto warranty call list for the past year. I never answer the phone if I don't know the number and when I look it up at this site it is always the auto warranty scam.
Anyone have any idea how they make money off of this?
Got a call from 401 762 4302 today at 1:08 PM. Some flack pimping the same old auto warranty scam. They've been cluster bombing my cell phone for a few weeks now.
It would be interesting to know how many of you recently bought a new car. I did about 6 months ago and my warranty is about to expire. I didn't pick up, I get calls frequently from this number, but it makes me think they got the number somewhere in the car buying process. Finance and Insurance perhaps?
