If you get a call from this number block it. I received a call on 12/26/2016, recorded voice telling me about a late Chase account balance asking for a payment over the phone. I hit 0 to talk with the operator. I suspected it was a scam call and told the service representative as much. I believe he was American because he spoke with a perfect American accent and word structure, which threw me off guard and sort of had me feeling like a jerk. He advised me to call the number on the back of my Chase credit card if I didn’t trust him… So Darn right I did!!!
The actual Chase representatives, from the number on the back of my card, could not verify the number either way and advised me to email
[email protected]. Here is my correspondence:

Subject: Suspicious number 402-220-0262 asking for a Chase Payment
I got a pre-recorded call from 402-220-0262 claiming I had a Chase Credit Card payment due and asked me to make a payment with my bank account. I pressed 0 to talk to an operator and he sounded very professional. He asked for my card number and I told him No Way because this all seemed suspicious. So he advised me to call the number on the back of my card. I did and they told me they cannot verify this number and to send a message to
[email protected]. So is 402-220-0262 a valid Chase Number or are these guys pulling a scam?
