This is a robo-call, and the voice is NOT on drugs...it's not a real person. Next time, just ask the person to add 7 plus 2, or some other simple problem and watch them hang up.
They are probably spoofing the number they're calling from and are probably in some foreign country where the DNC list doesn't apply. (They probably call via the Internet)
Our real outrage should be that the idiots in Congress passed a DNC bill that has no teeth.
Once they get your number, they call you almost weekly. They also call from different numbers, so that when you ask them to take you off their list, they just call you from another number. Vehicle warranty SCAM.
I have been repeatedly called by these a**holes after telling them to stop calling me and filing a FTC complaint against them. It is always some auto warranty company that tries to come off as being an official representative of the manufacturer or the dealership. They also send mailer after mailer with the same official look pushing an extended warranty. I have told them that I already have a warranty, I have told them to remove me from their calling list, I have asked for supervisors. Each and every time they hang up without saying another word, followed up by calling about a week later like clockwork. I have been called by them on 8/4, 7/27, 7/21, and 6/22, anywhere from 11AM to 3PM at the latest. The most recent call I played along to try and get mailing address info, etc, from them to file a law suit against them but they caught on and hung up yet again. I was able to get a supervisor who said his name was Shane Alexander and he quickly mumbled an address of something like 2000 West Palm Beach. If anyone gets any info from them, please post it so we can start to sue them for each illegal call they continue to make.
