You are wrong.
The Do Not Call registry stops thousands of law-abiding businesses from calling you. You just can't *count* calls you *don't* get.
Expecting the Do Not Call law to stop criminals from calling is like expecting a "No Trespassing" sign to prevent burglaries.
Many telemarketing and scam calls originate form overseas, beyond the jurisdiction of U.S. laws.
And finally, one benefit of the Do Not Call Registry, even when it's violated, is that you no longer need to wonder if the call you get is legitimate: If they're calling, they're criminal.
Got this call listed as "Credit services". I figured it was a sales call but you never know. I'm really glad for this site since now I KNOW it's bogus.
They left no message and I was away. But I've got yet another # to add to my list.
They called, my wife wanted to know who these people are that keep calling. They said they are calling to lower credit card interest rates. She started to talk to them, I took over the phone and told them they have very strong accents and i can't understand them. Where were they located, they said orland florida. They sounded like they had indian accents, i asked how can you lower credit card rates, they said they are credit card services and represent lots of credit cards and can lower my rates cause i make my payments ontime. I asked how do you know that? they said they have my statements and they just need verify i am the owner and have the credit card. I said if you know it all ready you tell me my credit card number, they said we wont give it to anyone over the phone, i said give me the last 4 digits, they said they have lots of credit card numbers and are trying to verify mine. I said i can call my credit card company myself to lower my interest rates and hung up.
They are a scam and are trying to get your credit card numbers.
