They said that they were calling seniors 65 and older. Talked about crime, falls, etc. They said that they were with the American Institute on Aging. Caller I.D. just showed Atlanta, GA. They said that they were giving out a free medical alert system along with pharmacy discount cards. They just needed my address. Then they said to press 1 to talk to an operator or press 2 so that they could notify my carrier that I refused service. I am reporting this one to the Federal Do Not Call registry. I listened to the whole message, just so that I could find out all I could about this caller.
Senior citizens are the most vulnerable people when it comes to being aware of predatory phone calls. I volunteer at a senior center, and I hear plenty about how seniors are targeted by threatening or telemarketing phone calls. Educate seniors you know about how to use Caller ID to screen calls. If they see a name and/or number they do not recognize, they should not pick up the call -- just let it ring through.
Have received two calls per day for the past week. I am reporting them because I have previously asked them to stop calling. But, they just change their number and keep calling.
