They said that they were calling seniors 65 and older. Talked about crime, falls, etc. They said that they were with the American Institute on Aging. Caller I.D. just showed Atlanta, GA. They said that they were giving out a free medical alert system along with pharmacy discount cards. They just needed my address. Then they said to press 1 to talk to an operator or press 2 so that they could notify my carrier that I refused service. I am reporting this one to the Federal Do Not Call registry. I listened to the whole message, just so that I could find out all I could about this caller.
The thing with these "free medical alert" system is that they don't charge you for the installation and equipment, but the alert won't work unless you purchase the monthly service (which will probably be a two year service). Of course it is NOT really free. If you say that you will take the equipment, but don't want the service they are not interested any more.
Received a call from 1-404-382-7363. Caller ID WAS 'Atlanta Ga'. A quick pick up and hangup is all I give these scammers. Checked 800 Notes and blocked.
