Just got a call from this number again. Several each day. Says he's calling for mastercard and visa. I asked where he was located, he said Ohio. Caller ID comes across as Atlanta, Ga.
Phones the our home every couple of hours and yet if we answer there is just silence on the other end.
They always hang up on the forth ring. Please put a stop to thses calls.
Ken, you're a jerk. The company (companies?) you are defending is clearly unethical. I don't trust you or anybody who would take time to try to stand up for the company.
By the way, your answer "you took time to type this long message, in caps too I might add, you whiner!" is proof of the company's character and your's.
Put the number on the Do Not Call list. If you continue to receive call, you might try the following. I've never tried this, but I believe it might work.
Keep accurate records of the dates and times the company contacts you, your comments and what the caller tells you.
Ask that you be removed from their phone list.
If you receive additional calls after asking to be removed, remind them that federal law requires them to remove your phone number from their contact list once asked to do so. Call your phone provider and file a complaint.
If they call a third time, federal law permits you to bill them from taking time from your life, whether or not you are at work. To do this, find the company's contact information, especially a physical address or e-mail. Send a registered, return receipt letter to the company. The letter should contain all the information you gathered, along with a bill for the time you spent on the phone with them and doing the internet work to show your claim for compensation is legitimate. Call your phone company, and file a complaint
If they continue to call, continue to bill them. If they continue, bill and file a criminal complaint for phone stalking. Continue to call your phone company and file a complaint.
I believe at some point you can obtain legal service to take the phone stalker to court for billing, attorney fees and court costs.
A very long shot, but it might work and give you some income at the same time.
