These people called my granddaughter, telling them that I was in legal trouble. I called them and talked to a "Mr. Gilchrist". He said that I had 1 hour to resolve this or the lawyer would file papers. I told him that I would call him back. I did, but with MY lawyer on the line. She began to ask him questions and he became irritated. She asked him to fax the debt information on their letterhead so that we could verify the debt. He said "our fax is not working". She asked for his first name and he said "my first name is of no consequence". He said that he would tell the "lawyer" that I refused to pay and my lawyer asked to speak to him. Then he hung up. These people are trying to scam people out of money! Do not pay them! I googled them and got this page.
This is a legitimate company, i had a debt that was $12,000 almost and Ms. Hill got me a settlement for less than %50 they are very understanding workers and once i looked at this website i see why people are so difficult. I can honestly say that this not a fake and if you want your credit cleaned up call them they have great options. I also consulted with my attorney and he stated its not illegal to call relatives, especially when only getting a msg out. They can also call for location information. So everyone complaining needs to just stop and pay your bill
I received a call from my ex-husband, about two months ago, that he had received a message from The Peacetree Law Center on his home phone. They were looking for me, but they also told him that he should call them if he wanted a say in the matter. All debt that we had together had been paid off before our separation with the exception on my condo.
Today, I received a "courtesy" call and when I asked for a fax number to appraise them of my situation I was placed on hold and then a 'Supervisor" came on the line. When I tried to get him to give me a fax number he become rude and threatened me telling me that the "attorney" was going to proceed.
Peachtree, Mr. Jones (can't you come up with a better fake name than Mr. Jones?) was calling for my nephew. They said it was urgent he call them immediately. I asked why. They said they were not at liberty to discuss that but that even if they don't hear from him they may be forced to take legal action. Came dangerously close to breaking the law there - almost threatened lawsuits and just about said it was for bad debt (which wouldn't have been legal since I am not my nephew). They asked how to reach him. I asked them again what it was about. They said they couldn't say. I said "well I can't exactly say where to find him then either." Polite people but that's probably because I wasn't the debtor.....will be interesting to see if they continue calling. No idea how they connected me to him though!
