These people called my granddaughter, telling them that I was in legal trouble. I called them and talked to a "Mr. Gilchrist". He said that I had 1 hour to resolve this or the lawyer would file papers. I told him that I would call him back. I did, but with MY lawyer on the line. She began to ask him questions and he became irritated. She asked him to fax the debt information on their letterhead so that we could verify the debt. He said "our fax is not working". She asked for his first name and he said "my first name is of no consequence". He said that he would tell the "lawyer" that I refused to pay and my lawyer asked to speak to him. Then he hung up. These people are trying to scam people out of money! Do not pay them! I googled them and got this page.
I don't know how this company got hold of my phone number. A female voice said she
is a debt collector and want to speak with (Name xxx), whose name belongs to my former husband whom I divorced nearly 30 years ago (!!!) When I asked how her company got hold of my phone number, and requested her name (the caller), she rudely hung up on me without any comment.
The caller was rude, and the call was disgusting.
Stop harrassing people who has nothing to do with your company!
We just received a message on our machine from these people asking us to call back 888-497-4454 x116 regarding a file number. They said it was imperative that we return the call. There is zero chance of that happening.
I just got a message on my answer box from Peachtree Law Center telling me to call right away because this was an urgent matter. It was a woman who sounded very pushy. I immediately googled it and found this. I will not be calling her back. This is why we screen ALL of our phone calls and only answer if we recognize the person calling. Thank you to whoever started this page. I appreciate all the warnings.
