I checked around. This phone number is 'called' Tea Party Patriots. Apparently they don't have anything to do with the 'tea party'. The common characteristic among the call recipients is that someone in the household (or the address) might have voted for the Republicans (GOP) in one of the last 2 elections. So this number (group) is being used to harass these people till they get fed up with the Tea Party and stop supporting it.
I can't get more information to find out if this is a Democratic funded scammer or someone doing it on his own funds to try help the Democrats.
Remember the IRS!
Maybe, this is a variant on the same kind of harassment.
If it is really the Tea Party calling, they would wait to talk to you about their cause and ask for your support or at least, for a donation. This number just calls till you want to pull your hair out. No other intent behind it.
Rokkandy........I agree to a degree....Another strike against you is placing your number in other telemarketing hands. I don't like to think the Tea Party would be a party to this, but this is outsourcing of theirs and is no
different than any other marketing group. All these political groups should be ashamed of themselves anyway.
Screaming antics about reducing the national debt and beg for money 24/7 from the citizens !! Citizens that
don't really have it to give. We pay taxes on everything we touch and now we pay for the air we breathe to the
government. Will this money grabbing ever stop? It's a shame you have to pay the phone companies outrageous monthly fees simply to block ten numbers on your phone. Ten is all that At&t allows you to block and that is $7 bux per month. Friends, that is $84 bux per annum....The feature has been around for 25 years
and my phone bill was less than $20 bux in the 80s and 90s. I still have the same features now as then and I have had a phone with At&t for 50 years. I'm 70 if that matters.
I want the calling to stop from this # 404-891-5541 somehow. I can't afford payment to stop stuff like this since I am a pensioner, nor can I afford to place my number into their automated system which they claim will stop it. That sort of thing is not trustworthy and can make matters worse for these unsolicited phone calls. They are
no less than harrassment . Telemarketing is getting out of hand again.
You can. Do a search of the web to see how to take them to small claims court and get a judgement against them. I know a guy who did so and impouned their building under court order and had to pay him for his expenses, plus the FTC permits something like $1500.00 for each call.
