This is an Indian Reservation from Columbus, MT calling to solicit donations either for the Standing Rock Sioux or Choctaw tribes. Unknown which as the message was faint and partly garbled. Another telemarketing scam. Listed as private on White Pages.com.
Nope, it's not a scam. My mother gives to this charity annually, and they call to leave a message thanking her every christmas. The message is usually a short christmas carol sung by the children that this charity supports, and then a message from the director in his native american language.
If they are calling you, then you've probably donated to some charity that's linked to theirs and are on their list. Just call them back and ask to be removed from their calling list. I'm listed as my mothers' secondary contact and have to remind them to remove me from their list every couple of years. They are quite legitimate; I just don't support religious charities and organizations that promote religion (of any kind.)
Becarefully they are spoofing numbers go online and get the info not some one calling people use common sense. Probally a big scam all these calls asking for money now are scams.
I know the school which the solicitation is suppoe to be for --- , an Indian School in Montana. We have supported this school for years but when I received the call tonight I explained that I never respond to solicitations over the phone, I never give out infomation nor do I confirm information. I just told them to send me a pledge card an I woul consider .
